Client: Aker Arctic Technology Inc.
SDS Aura Oy has been commissioned by Aker Arctic to provide the concept and basic design of hull structures for Arctic Condensate Tanker Aker ARC 212. The design contract includes the classification design, calculations and FE analysis (strength, vibration etc.) In addition, SDS Aura will conduct collision simulations of the tanker.
The 214 -meters long icebreaking condensate tanker will have dual classification and conform to Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and Bureau Veritas rules. It will be able to operate in 1.8 m thick ice with icebreaking speed of 2 knots (astern). The tanker will operate year-round in the Arctic area, delivering gas condensate, crude oil and product oil from port of Sabetta in the Yamal Peninsula, Russia to Europe and Asia. The arctic condensate tanker is built by GSI, Guangzhou Shipyard International in China.
